My thoughts about getting motivated ...
In my humble opinion, the 14 points about motivation that you just read don't address the main factor about getting motivated. These are great organizational skills to incorporate when establishing and following through in order to achieve my goal.
What isn't addressed is the fact that depression, procrastination, and unhappiness are leading causes of not being motivated, and even if I attempt to follow through with any of these 14 points listed above, the first thing that I must do is shed whatever is blocking my creativity.
It may be a family member who needs to be dealt with, losing a meaningless job, or taking a road trip and a change of scenery that triggers my happiness sensors, which will ultimately affect my motivation. I don't think that unhappy people are motivated people because they lack the enthusiasm and desire to propel them to complete a goal.
Life can bring an endless list of tasks and work into our lives; and daily we get up and carry out those tasks. After a certain time of doing something that is work alone rather than doing something fun, it changes us and transforms us into procrastinating lumps.
My recommendation is to rid yourself of whatever is dragging you down, and transform yourself by learning something new everyday, walking or exercising, writing down your thoughts in a private journal, and teach yourself the vitality of transforming into a motivated hero to do whatever it is that brings you joy.
I am learning this as I walk this journey of transformation so that I can be motivated to make beautiful rugs. Come along with me as we discover ways to become motivated and achieve wonderful goals.
